I'm at work this afternoon, but since it's the last day of finals for the semester, we're not very busy. Most of the questions we're getting are of the "Where do I return my books?" variety; nothing very challenging. We did have one Ask A Librarian email question this morning asking how to find a particular kind of psychology article, and that caused us to do a double-take: "Really?! It's 8:30 on the morning of the last day of finals and you haven't even found your ARTICLE yet?!" Ah, well, it's their problem. We did answer the question, of course.

This got very long! )

I don't know what the deal is with Andrew and me and phones. *sigh*

We finally bought a new answering machine a couple weeks back, and it's been hooked up and in service for about a week now I think. Well, last night, we went to use the landline phone, and had no dial tone. We only have two phones hooked up right now, and neither of them was "off the hook". Tried calling the houseline from my cell phone, and got a busy signal.

So we have no landline at the moment. We've called the phone company and reported it, but we're still waiting for them to figure out what's wrong. In the meantime, if you need to talk to us by phone, call one of our cell phones.

At least this time, I'm pretty sure it's not the answering machine's fault, even if the timing does look suspicious. ;)

[EDIT: Andrew says he just got a call that our phone line is fixed. Apparently it was a "bad relay" somewhere between us and the phone company. Whatever that means. We'll verify when we get home.]
